Cherish your days and love ones while you are here on earth. Unfortunately, Mr. Beverly Dewitt Yancey passed away yesterday evening. Your Love, Prayers, and Continued Support is Appreciated. ONE LOVE, J DILLA FOUNDATION.

REST IN PEACE to BEVERLY DEWITT YANCEY (POP DUKES)

In memoriam of Beverly Dewitt Yancey, father of James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla. Just more proof that musical genes are often the strongest. Dewitt’s doo wop vocal group from the late 50’s, the Ivies recorded this gem over 50 years ago. Enjoy, and marvel at the ancestry of a musical genius.
